Halloween 2012 - the land of fairies and pirates

In my effort to play catch-up since October last year, here's my very overdue post on my cuties and their Halloween costumes.  Celia of course picked what she wanted to be.  "Fairy" has been done so many ways, but I think we made her a super cute wood fairy, each piece handmade.  Kye changed his mind a million times, but I finally got him settled on pirate and would you believe we didn't make it???  Seriously, it was getting down to the wire so I ordered it from etsy, which still doesn't count as "store bought", but way closer to it than I usually get :)  I took them out to our neighborhood park for this quick photo session.

1 Final Fabulous Family - Jinky Part 3

Fabulous light with another photographer and her awesome family.  And we got to work with these guys a little more so I have more shots.  Besides dealing with snakes in the grass (yuck!) this shoot was my favorite of the Jinky Art workshop.  I almost didn't get to post any photos from the workshop since I waited until the absolute last hour to edit and load them for the models.  I was so busy watching the amazing Barb work that I honestly didn't think I got any pictures with my own camera so I'm happy I at least edited these at the last minute and loaded them.

Jinky Fabulousess Part 2

A few more from the Jinky Art workshop in Round Top.  I could take these two home with me in a heartbeat.  Can you tell they are a photographer kids, so easy in front of the camera.  I wish I could have taken a full session with them.  Without a zoom on my camera it was impossible to get my favorite portrait shots without bumping into other photographers.  So these are all taken from one perspective.  But don't you love the bunnies?

Jinky Fabulousness Part 1

Yes, I still have a blog.  I know it's been a while so I am really going to play catch-up and start with where I left off back in October.  I am just now editing these photos from a workshop I attended with the amazing Australian photographer, Barb Uil of Jinky Art.  If you're a photographer and don't know who she is, well, I can't imagine why you would not know first of all, but get over to her site right now and check her out.  I can't think of a more talented children's photographer in the world and I'm certain most other photographers would agree with me.  She is crazy talented and I consider myself super lucky to have gotten to know her and learn from her.  I can't say enough about the workshop.  It was life changing.  I am still taking it all in and haven't got to try out everything I learned.  I probably would have waited another year to do it, but she was only doing US workshops in 2012 and there was no way I was going to miss out on one especially since she was doing one less than 2 hours from Houston, in Round Top, TX.  Here are a few of my photos from the workshop.  The shoots weren't ideal in that you're trying to get the "shot" with 12 other photographers crowding around you.  But then again I really wasn't there to shoot.  I was there to watch greatness in action.  But I did take a few pics...

By the way the room that the last few photos were taken in was my room at the B&B we stayed in, so pretty.  I will add more soon, promise.
