New Tricks

I'm very resistant to change, always have been.  But in photography as in most things in life that is not an asset.  You have to learn new programs, new devices, new tricks.  I recently converted to Mac with much resistance.  That meant of course new photoshop software.  It's all definitely going to take some getting used to.  But here's the first image I edited with my new mac and my fancy new CS6 (which I have to say I'm more impressed with than my Mac...so far).  I am putting the image on here to see how it compares to my old stuff.

First Up

Even though it's still quite hot down here in Houston I hear it's Fall and for me that means picture craziness.  First up for my Fall mini sessions is this gorgeous momma with all her handsome boys.  For their shoot I got to try out our new sports complex right in my neighborhood and I think it worked out great.  I have been waiting for it to get done for years now.  So happy it's finally ready.

Destin 2012

Thought I better get these done before I start working on everyone else,s photos.  Just a few I took while we were on vacation in Destin back in May.  These were all done super early in the morning since my kids decided to wake up before the sun almost every day we were there.  Lucky for me it was the perfect time for a photo session.  Also lucky for me I finally got some good shots of the two of them together.  Those are so hard to get.

Organization Bliss

I'm always doing projects around my house that I think I should post to my blog, but by the time I'm finished I'm too tired to mess with it.  This one was too good to let go though.  I'm a girl who LOVES organization.  And I have been annoyed with my laundry room for a while now.  You know the room where everything lands when you walk in the door?  That's the room.  It was basically a nightmare.  So I convinced my handy husband to build me the laundry/mudroom of my dreams.  Ok, it's not really the one of my dreams because that would have involved tearing down some walls, but it's as close as it gets with the space I had.

I poured over Pinterest for inspiration and came up with a design I thought would work.  My math minded husband came up with the plans.  It took the kids being away at Nanny's for a week, some very late nights for us, lots of sweat and mathematical calculations.  But we finally got it done!!

Isn't she lovely?  My new favorite and most useful room in my house...

I owe my lawyer by day - handyman by night husband for all his incredible hard work on this.  He and I did this totally by ourselves.

But so worth it!!!
