the big Kindergarten

Can't believe it's finally here.  I have a Kindergartner.  Since I figured the actual first day of school would be nuts I staged a little early photo session with my girl.

And I brought my camera for the actual first day as well.  It was crazy.  No, I didn't cry.  Yes, she loves it.  She's adjusting so much better than Mommy.  I'm having a hard time with a few things.  But it's getting easier day by day :)

She's doing fabulous in her class.  And she actually comes home and tells me all about her day which according to the other moms around here is a luxury they aren't getting so I'm feeling quite lucky.  She was already trusted to walk to the office and pick up stickers for the class with just one other classmate.  I'm told it was a successful trip.  So proud of my big girl.

K is for Kindergarten Kick-off Party

What to do when your daughter's very best friend in the whole world decides to move right before they're supposed to start Kindergarten together?  Throw a party for her to meet new friends of course.  Can't have her not knowing anyone when she starts school.  And I am pretty sure this is my last party of the year.  I am just partied out plus I have to switch gears to family photo session mode very soon.

But for now here's a little look at the small get together we had for Celia and a few other girls from the neighborhood who will be starting Kindergarten with her.

We had about 10 girls in the pool together with no drama, seriously.  And Celia told me she "loved, loved, loved" her Kindergarten party.  Total success!

Blue is for Baby Boys

One of my most fabulous and dearest friends is having a little boy soon.  So one of the first things I did after she told me the news was start thinking about what to do for her shower.  Yes I love planning parties, but I also just thought she deserved a really great day to celebrate her very first baby.  She was basically my first friend in Houston and I just love her and know she is going to make such an incredible Mommy.  So what else could I do, but throw her a party as fabulous as she is?  Here's a little glimpse of the celebration done in none other than blues and greens of course.  I used a "peacock" inspired color theme throughout.  I'm loving these colors...

The printed pages were for words of wisdom for the new Mommy to Be that I put in an album for her.

Is she not the cutest pregnant lady ever?

For a different spin on onesie decorating we decorated bibs.  I'm thinking these might actually get used.  It took some persuading, but once the ladies sat down their inner artist came out and everyone really had fun doing it.

Then presents...she has no idea what this is, ha!

Congrats my friend.  I am so ready to meet your new little guy.
